HETEROTROPH
Heterotrophic organisms are those that are not capable of synthesizing all the organic substances they need to live (carbohydrates, proteins and lipids) starting from mineral elements. They must therefore derive these substances from other organisms through nutrition. Fungi, various bacteria, plants devoid of chlorophyll and all animals including humans, are heterotrophic organisms unlike plants which, thanks to photosynthesis, respiration and other metabolic processes, synthesize all the substances they need to live by themselves and therefore they are called autotrophs.Botanical dictionary from A to Z.
